That's what my 2 year old told me when I was putting her to bed. We were reading her books and out of nowhere she said "I had fun today." This was the very 1st time she has even shared an emotion or anything like this without us prompting her. I seriously almost cried! I asked her "you had fun today?" Just to be sure I heard her right and said "YES! Baby had fun today too" (baby is her baby doll who was in her crib all day by the way LOL!). Then she said "Oompa (Luke) had fun? Daddy had fun? Mama?" I just can't get over that she comprehended what fun was and that she knew she had had fun today and that she said it to me. What must go through her head that I'm not even aware of!
Today we did nothing too special. We went to a national historic sight, a huge mansion with hundreds of acres of grounds that are beautiful. Kris and I just walked around with the kids letting them explore. I took some pictures (which came out amazing and I will share soon) and we had a ball just walking around seeing the rocks, water, "pumpkins" and smelling flowers. We were there maybe 45 minutes. Otherwise we didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
This goes to show you that the little things do make a difference with them. Something so little and so insignificant (and free!!) made such an impact on my little girl. She had fun today! And how do I know it? She said it to me! Unprompted and full of joy. I love this little girl and I love that she loved today as much as I did. I will always remember today.
A blog (mostly) for my kids and (partly) for me

Our fun-filled weekend! WARNING!! PICTURE HEAVY!
We had a blast this weekend! It was so much fun. Friday was beautiful and the kids and I just played outside. A bald eagle flew over our house on Friday and it was so beautiful! I got pics!!
Then we just played...
Chasing her shadow...
Nom nom nom, Sophie is so delicious!
On Saturday we just chilled around the house until 3. Then we went outside a played. Luke got his 1st try of foods (peas). He liked it but didn't get the concept of eating. We will try again next week.
Here's my drunk lad on his 1st St. Patty's Day!
1st taste of peas!!
He was so happy, he couldn't eat them...
Wait, that's peas!! Ugh...
Then later that evening Kris and I went out for our 1st date night in a while. It was amazing! My mom watched the kids and Kris and I had Thai food and hiked by the river.
Then Sunday we went to BJs for some shopping.
Then we found a new park to try out. So much fun! And because I took myself off my heart medicine and am on my thyroid medicine I was able to run around with Grace. It felt so good to be normal again!
The sweetest boy I've ever known!
Funny girl!
Don't worry, I was with her!
My family.
Luke's 1st time on the swing!!
Daddy & Grace.
I think he was the happiest boy at the park.
Meema (my mom) & Luke
When did my boy get so big?
I promise she's not going to fall. She has NO FEAR and likes to swing high!
Grace, Luke, me, & Meema on the swings.
Grace, Luke, me & Daddy on the swings. I decided I was going to jump off, since I was feeling so free.
This was the end result! I was mostly joking...
Ice cold water at the water fountain.
Happy boy getting his diaper changed before we left.
Then we came home and put all our groceries away. Then Kris and I played Rock Band on the WII for the very 1st time since I was just pregnant with Luke. Luke jumped in his Jumperoo to the beat, and Grace danced. They both love music! It's been so crazy lately it was nice to feel "normal" again and do stuff we used to do before life got away from us. The kids had baths, went to bed and slept pretty well from their park-extravaganza. It was over-all one of the very best weekends we've had in a very long time.

Outside fun!!
It's been so warm here (like 70's!!) so we've been getting outside a lot! It helps with bedtime too, because they are so tuckered out from the fresh air and running around.
Here's us shopping on Sunday. Luke was in the Ergo and was sporting his new sunglasses. My kids have blue eyes, and therefore have very sensitive eyes.
Then we stopped at the park!! So much fun! And Daddy got to go too (and Meema)!
She had so much fun! Look at her face coming down the slide!
And here's how she "balanced," she decided sitting was better.
And here's what Luke did...
Then we went home and Luke decided to show off his new sitting skills!
Then today we played outside on the new slide I got for Grace ($15 off Craigslist... SCORE!!).
Mommy & her babies. I love these kids so much!!
We had so much fun! We will be outside every day we can. Grace loves to run around, and listen to the birds and bark at the dogs. Her new thing is waving to everyone who walks by. It's too cute!
