Grace started sitting today! Kris was home too, I know he was excited to see it. My little baby is growing up!

Nicknames
We call Grace a few nicknames. They are as follows:
Gracie Bean or Bean
Little Gracie Poo Poo (Like Bunny FooFoo), we sing her the song too.
Gracie Poo
Ham or hammy ham
Sweets or sweetie pie
Gracelyn (Her name is Grace Evelyn and we kind of combined the two)
Turkey butt
Miss Fussy Butt Pie (when she's cranky!)
Most of the time she's Grace or Gracie though.

Survived our 1st weekend trip as a family!
This past weekend Kris, Grace, and I went to Buffalo to visit Kris' stepmother, sister and various other family member. It was a 5 hour ride there and another 5 back. It was our first trip as a family and Grace's first long car ride. We stayed with Kris' stepmother and sister. It was quite an adventure to say the least. We bought her a convertible car seat for the long trip and she loved it! Slept for 4 hours, then ate and was happy for the rest of the trip.
I don't think Grace has ever been held or kissed by so many people in her life. Poor baby didn't know what to do, but was such a trooper. For being passed around so much she really only had a few meltdowns which was awesome! She also took her first naps in her pack-and-play (and not on me either) which is something we've been working on for weeks! So proud of her. Kris' stepmother kept kissing her on her mouth and I was about to loose it! So disgusting! She also kept waking her up from naps too, but she doesn't like me as it is so saying something was out of the question. I am so glad to be home!
She slept really bad the first night, up every hour for her pacifier. But the second night she was back on her normal schedule. It was mine and Kris' first time sleeping in the same room with her ever (she has been in her crib since day 1) and we did not like it at all. She is so noisy.
Grace did so awesome on the ride home too. Slept for the first 3 hours, ate then slept again and only really started getting fussy 30 minutes from home. We just sang songs and played with toys. She is such an amazing little girl! She is now napping, ALONE again! So excited for this new routine!!

Such a long weekend!
On Friday Kris calls me and says his company laid off 16 more employees (he was not one of them thank God). This sucks because there are barely any left to begin with... they've laid off at least 25-30 in the past 2 years. This is a small company too, so it really made an impact. Secondly they tell him that they are going to be opening an office in San Diego (we are in PA) and that all the engineers can go if they choose. In about 2 years time they will close the PA office. We're thinking great, a free ride to the west coast and warmth!! Not so much... his salary would stay the same. The same house we bought in PA for $279,000 would be over $400,000 out there. We also have another house that we've been trying to sell as well that is an hour south of us. Because of this second house we can't turn on our heat. We have no money... just enough to pay our bills. We are making it, but barely. A small kerosene heater heats our living room (which is usually around 50-60 degrees normally). DD's room is the only one with heat on and that is set to 68. With 2 mortgages and a decent amount of debt the move would put us in a hole. Plus my mom live 1/4 mile from us and is such a help with Grace. We would miss her! So our search moved to Florida because there were jobs... not so much. Now Kris is in the process of interviewing for a company an hour west of here. He had a phone interview today and a real interview will be in a few days.
This all seems to be moving very fast, but his company is too unstable (we've known this for a long time). So now we could potentially be moving to an apartment an hour away while trying to sell two houses that aren't even near each other. We live in a 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom house right now and to move to a 2 bedroom apartment would be tough. But his salary would be bumped up by $10,000-20,000. This is huge and would help so much! We could finally have heat and a new car that isn't falling apart and pay off our debt! I guess we would love the job but were so not ready to move. We are being pushed into this and I feel crazy. Plus we started TTC and now I'm worried about actually getting pregnant. We could manage, but that would be so much more stress! But we can't go back on what's already been done. We can't say much because this is a small town and Kris doesn't want to jeopardize his current job just yet.

Vent...
Kris' family has mostly not met Grace yet. His sister flew in about 2 months after she was born and that's it! My MIL has yet to meet her granddaughter. He also has a stepmother and another sister and family from her that we consider our family. His grandmother and various aunts have not made an attempt either. They still have not met her either. Now granted MIL, Krista, Kris' grandmother and aunts live in CA and we are in PA, but Krista made the trip.
His stepmother lives in Buffalo (about a 5 hour drive from here) and refuses to come down here. We are actually going up there next weekend. She even went as far as to drive to the Outer Banks the weekend Grace was born and did not stop by. She literally drove right by our exit and didn't stop. If we weren't going up there I have no idea when they would actually see her. If it wasn't for Kris' 13 y/o sister we wouldn't be making the trip at all. I think it's a little sad that Grace has more family and she has no idea who they are. To top it off when we go to Buffalo is 10 days, his stepmother is pushing for us to leave Grace with her OVERNIGHT!!! Grace doesn't even know who she is and you want me to leave her there?
Every time Kris talks to her she pushes this issue more and more. I am not looking forward to going at all. She has go as far as to say that Kris would go to the Casino in Canada with her brothers and I would have to find something to do because she wanted Grace all to herself with Taylor . Obviously we can't keep Grace from Kris' 13 y/o sister, but who the heck does her mom this she is? I am just going to say Grace is having separation issues and we can't leave her.
As I am writing this, I am realizing that my family is just nuts and it is probably not the same for others.
