Our house is slowly getting there! I redid a few rooms recently and just wanted to share. 1st is my Master bedroom. Not much I did, but I did redo the window treatments. Made such a dramatic difference! I used this blog for the tutorial and actually fell in love with the fabric she used, so I got it.
Here's the before:
And the after:
Up next are curtains, a new room configuration and a lot of work but I can't wait to post finished pictures when I actually get around to doing it!
Next, our dining room. I already showed the most dramatic change here, but this was more of a room reconfiguration and adding softer touches.
I added curtains that my mom and I made, a new painting and I moved the furniture around. The after:
I think it looks so much better! I also did a small change on Kris' Grandmother's China cabinet. I took the doors off, took most of the china out that we don't use anyway and added $1 bins from the $ Store. I plan to find fabric that
accents that picture to cover the bins in.
Then I also plan to let the kids paint 2 canvases in the
orange/blue/yellow colors from the painting and put them on either side
of the big window. And lastly, I plan to put up white chair rail and
decorative molding on the bottom 1/2 of the walls in the dining room like this.
It's a work in progress though, those will be winter projects. It looks
so much better and is slowly getting there.
Next is the biggest project I think we have ever taken on! Our front driveway has been transformed into a front yard. I'm in love!!
Here's the before:
And after they ripped the driveway out:
Then taking out the rhododendrons and those front garden boxes. My little helpers:
And as finished as it's going to be for now:
I LOVE it! They have since come and seeded the dirt (which Grace is really upset about since she loved the dirt). Kris and I also ripped out all the wood around those planter boxes. Soon that dirt will be gone too, a new walkway laid, then our front porch will become an actual front porch. I'm beyond excited!! Our goal is Thanksgiving. We will see how it goes. But for now, I feel like the changes are amazing and that front door we did finally pops.
Up next, finishing the stairs, finishing the curtains for the living room and redoing our master. Stay tuned for part 3!
